Greeneville is a historic town located in northeastern Tennessee, founded in 1783 by Revolutionary War hero Nathanael Greene. The town played an important role in the Civil War as a center for both Union and Confederate forces, and it was also the hometown of the 17th President of the United States, Andrew Johnson.

GreenEville, Tennessee
Greeneville is named after Revolutionary War hero Nathanael Greene, who was a close friend of Andrew Johnson, the 17th President of the United States, who lived in Greeneville.
The town played a significant role in the Civil War, with Confederate and Union troops occupying it at different times.
The Dickson-Williams Mansion is one of the most historic buildings in Greeneville. Built in 1815, it was the home of William Dickson, a prominent businessman and politician.
The Greeneville Historic District is a collection of over 40 historic buildings and landmarks that date back to the 18th and 19th centuries.
